Low sodium foods are often monotonous and boring.
Spices and herbs can be used to improve the flavor,
aroma and appearance of low sodium foods making them
more acceptable for those on low sodium or sodium restricted
diets.
Most of the following spices sold by Silver Cloud
contain less than 400 mg of sodium 100 g of spice and
may be used safely in place of salt to flavor foods.
The sodium content of whole and ground spices is the
same. For comparison purposes one tsp (5 g) of salt
contains 2000 mg of sodium. The data below is from
