Silver Cloud's Pure
Vanilla Extract is produced
exclusively from beans grown on the
estate. After curing, the beans are
carefully chopped to increase their
surface area and placed in stainless
steel percolators. A solution of ethyl
alcohol and purified water is circulated
through the chopped beans to extract
the flavor. Silver Cloud uses a proprietary
cold process to extract its beans.
This minimizes the loss of delicate
flavor components. The extraction process
usually takes two to three days. The Pure
Vanilla Extract is then aged in
special holding tanks for as long as
two weeks, prior to being filtered
and boltted.
Our Pure
Vanilla Extract is manufactured
in accordance with the Food and Drug
Administration's Code of Federal
Regulations. Pure
Vanilla Extract is the only
flavor with a US FDA standard of
identity. This standard requires
13.35 ounces of vanilla beans (at
25.00% moisture) per gallon of minimum
35% ethyl alcohol and 65% water by
volume.
There are no regulations, however, regarding
the quality of the beans used to manufacture Pure
Vanilla Extract. Many companies use
inferior beans when producing their extract.
The fact that Silver Cloud uses the finest
premium beans is readily evident in the
quality of the extract it offers. |
