Tandoori Seasoning
Our Tandoori Seasoning is one of my favorite seasonings for grilled chicken and pork. While most people think of tandoori as a seasoning, in fact it is a cooking method using a a tandoor - a clay oven. Skewered meat, which is typically marinated with yogurt, spices and herbs, is grilled in a tandoor over a hot, smoky fire.While it might sound a little strange to use yogurt for marinating meat, it is actually the perfect marinade. Slightly acidic and thick, yogurt holds to the meat well and keeps the herbs and spices in place. The flavor of plain yogurt is so mild you do not taste it. If you choose not to use yogurt, try our tandoori seasoning as a dry marinade. To get as much flavor as possible, work the seasoning into the meat well.
Silver Cloud's Tandoori Seasoning contains salt, coriander, paprika, ginger, garlic, cinnamon and cayenne pepper. If you do not have a tandoor at home, make the marinade (yogurt and our seasoning) and barbecue the meat on a very hot, closed grill.
